What is GTC-LV3?

GTC-LV3 is a low VOC solvent based durable coating designed to seal porous surfaces in one coating. It is highly effective in sealing rigid graphite insulation, felt, and porous edges/ surfaces of graphite and carbon fiber composite components.

What is a Water Based Graphite Coating?

A water based graphite coating is specially formulated to provide superior lubricating and a release film for high temperature applications. The coatings unique particle size and binder system combine to promote a tenacious graphite film for maximum protection against galling, soldering, and seizing.

What is ATC-LV3?

ATC-LV3 is a low VOC, solvent based coating with aluminum oxide filler in a preceramic polymer binder. This single-component coating was designed to prevent contact reactions of metals to graphite and can be applied to all graphite and carbon fiber composite surfaces.

  • Excellent thermal stability and non-dusting over a range of temperatures up to 2550℉ (1400℃) in non-oxidizing or vacuum environments.
  • Excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates.
  • Good chemical and electrical resistance while maintaining physical properties.

  • Low cost, repairable, and fast drying/curing.

What is GraphiSeal?

GraphiSeal is a low viscosity liquid ceramic precursor resin which heat cures to silicon carbide (SiC). This coating is used to infiltrate and seal porous graphite, carbon fiber composites, and similar porous substrates used in harsh environments. GraphiSeal has even been used to seal porous ceramics. For additional enhanced properties GraphiSeal can be combined with particulate fillers such as alumina, silicon, SiC, and other fillers to modify both internal and coated surface properties.

Benefits

  • This coating was engineered to lower porosity, while improving oxidation, wear, and corrosion resistance of porous based materials. 
  • Low viscosity (<10cps) and odor.
  • Pyrolyzes to glass-ceramic in nitrogen or non-oxygen environments at 850℃.
  • Compatible with most metals, ceramic powders, and carbon/ceramic fibers.
  • Solvent free (Low VOC’s)
  • One or more impregnation cycles will fill internal porosity, increasing density, and further resulting in a thin film barrier on the outer surfaces.

  • Used to seal graphite, carbon fiber composites, and similar substrates.
  • Oil quenching.

ITC-213 is an outstanding ceramic coating product specially formulated to protect graphite and metal, including those directly in contact with molten metal.
